Organic
foods, in general, are grown for at least three years in fields without the
use
of chemical fertilizers or agricultural chemicals. Strict standards are set for
every step of the process, including removal from the fields, storing, shipping,
and processing. In adherence to these strict standards, or certified by an
outside
specialist, it is processed and distributed.
Organics is especially important
in that it promotes the necessity of cultivating farms that contribute to the
protection of the environment. This is because organics prohibits the use of
agricultural
chemicals, chemical fertilizers, and other chemical products, under the theme
that one's health and the environment cannot be separated. It is said that in
our present time, one person out of five suffers from things like allergy-based
diseases and atopic diseases. The causes of these allergies are many. Particularly
pointed out is that somewhere along the way in processing and distribution, additives
find their way into our food.
To protect our health and lengthen
our lives, safety should be our first priority and should take precedence over
anything else. |
